A college fundraising letter is one that is written by the students of a college who wish to organize a fundraising campaign for some purpose. Raising funds is a popular practice in educational institutes like schools and colleges for the accomplishment of various objectives such as fests, events, trips, etc. It may also be for social cause, however that depends on the college. It is a good way to raise funds for whatever purpose they want to.
A college fundraising letter is a formal letter written by an individual or a group of individuals with the hope of raising funds for some event or any other purpose. It must state the genuine cause of raising funds as it increases the chances of the success. Mention the amount that you require and what you would be doing with the funds. Also mention benefits, if any, for those who actively participate in this fundraising program.

Respected sir,
I am writing this letter to you to invite you to the fundraising event organized by our college in our college premises on DD/MM/YYYY. This event has been organized for a major social cause.
Every year, our college organizes a trip to one of the NGOs of our country. The students who participate in that trip, raise funds and visit the NGOs to provide the unprivileged ones with food, clothing and other necessities. Every child around the world needs proper love and care. And as a human being, we all should aim to do that. This trip is made to teach everyone about that section of society that needs love, care, nourishment, and respect a lot then we do. This year we have decided not only just to visit an NGO but to stay there for a duration of 15 days and teach the children something. For that purpose, we need to raise funds. This fundraising is being done for a noble cause to help unprivileged section of the society and we hope that you would actively take part in this.
For more details, you can contact on the numbers provided below. If needed, we shall give a proper account of the money raised and used. Hoping to see you there.
