Company engines.

and honing operations.

Initiated improved quality control
system to meet Dane specifications for full-year warranty. System resulted in
reduction of rejects to less than 4% on 500-600 engines completed monthly.

Established purchasing policies
utilizing second and third sources for parts which resulted in Baur-Dane
assuming more competitive pricing position.
·
Classified purchasing details on 80
different production engines: implemented inventory control; greatly improved
ordering efficiencies; and set up effective marketing service policies.
Accomplishment:
Through expanded automation effected a labor cost reduction of $12 million
annually. This was on $82 million in annual sales and the difference between a
loss and substantial profit for management.
